Just my best guess as to why they would make such a curious exception to their normal policy. In fact, I suspect Steam's beef with Eagle Dynamics is that the sales on the DCS website are better than those on Steam, stealing Steam's thunder (and their slice of the pie). For games from certain companies I really want to support, like CDProjektRed and Eagle Dynamics, I prefer to buy direct.
